Common questions
Which format should I use for transparency?
Use PNG or supported WebP output. JPG cannot retain a transparent background.
Can converting to JPG reduce quality?
Yes. JPG is lossy and quality settings affect the result. Compare the preview before downloading a compressed photo.
How do I convert PNG to JPG or JPG to PNG?
Upload the image and choose the output format in the converter. PNG supports transparency; JPG does not. Choose the background when exporting an opaque JPG and inspect the result.
Can I convert WebP or AVIF to JPG or PNG?
WebP and supported AVIF inputs can be converted to JPG, PNG or WebP when the browser can decode the source. GIF and BMP inputs are also supported; exported files are static images rather than animated GIFs.
Can I convert JPG or PNG to WebP?
Yes. Choose WebP output when the receiving website or application accepts it. JPG and JPEG are names for the same format; changing the extension alone is not a different image conversion.
